Translation is about converting words from one language to another. Interpreting is about understanding what's really being communicated — the context, the emotion, what matters in that moment. When someone's at a hospital appointment or a job interview, they don't just need someone who knows BSL.
They need someone who understands what's happening, who can support clear communication, and who's genuinely present with them. That's what I do.
Typically £40 per hour with a 2-hour minimum (so a standard booking is £80).
Rates can vary depending on the nature of the work — recordings, performance interpreting, or co-working arrangements may be priced differently. If you need longer sessions or have specific requirements, we can discuss that.
What you're paying for is qualified, professional interpreting — not just someone who knows the language, but someone who understands the complexity of the situation you're in.

Yes. I work both face-to-face and remote video interpreting. But I'll be honest — there's something irreplaceable about being in the room with someone. You see real people, pick up on what's actually happening, not just the words. That said, remote interpreting works well for many situations, and I'm fully set up for it.
